The Nepalese Debate Forum

Era of Rise or Decline

When our country is all set for a historic change, when all Nepalese are eagerly awaiting their rights to be ensured and when all patriots await for the power to be vested on the people; the youth ‘the power house of the nation’ are busy battling each other leaving people in the brick of uncertainty and pushing our country to political, social and economic doom. We never expected this from the youths after their contribution to make the historic April uprising a success but the prejudice of some youths today has made the contribution of zillion of brave youths stale.

In a period when the country seeks to help all its citizens to witness a large chunk of young leaders violating the positive peaceful vibes is indeed disappointing. The youths have an important role in nation building and if they do not realize this then it might be too late to prevent our country’s identity to be at stake and our country’s name to be demolished.

Rather than getting involved in political mudslinging the youths today should jointly work together to make the CA election a success.

The constitution is being re- written not only to serve an individual but to serve the aspirations of the people, those people who didn’t hesitate to die for democracy.

The diversity being seen in our youths will indeed prove vital for mediation between various displeased fractions of the society by bringing up their problems and citing peaceful solutions through talks with the authority concerned. They also can advocate and lay their views of common interest and benefit of the country.

In a nut shell the significance or the importance of the constituent assembly might be defined as to ‘Establish a Rule of Law’ but the recent report has clearly stated that 74 percent of the Nepalese do not know the significance of the C.A Polls. In total confusion and political turmoil youths should take lead to aware people of this historic event.

History dictates dominance of feudal, aristocrats and narrow minded fanatics who have drained the country and indebted its soil to social, economic and political turmoil in the days of ‘Puppet Democracy’. This is the chance of making the right choice and remodeling the structure of our country in order to ensure unbiased treatment to people belonging to different caste, creed and sectors.

Youths should be dispatched to various geographical areas to aware people and furnish the local people with a sound vision of new Nepal and information regarding the constituent assembly election. Youths should be neutral while advocating the worth of parties and presenting their views and ideologies in an unbiased manner. What’s haunting the minds of people today is whether the constituent assembly will be ‘Free and Fair’. Rather than dispatching combats or the Nepalese army to overlook the transparency of the election this job should be assigned to the youths who feel their duty to serve the nation in a critical period of its history.

Surprisingly the media her in Nepal hasn’t been able to play significant role in advocating the importance of the CA Elections, the youths should coordinate with various media houses to educate, aware, inform, the people about the constituent assembly its proceedings and its importance.

Surveys, questioners are also fruitful means of collecting opinions of people belonging from different social sectors and ethnic group. Their opinions should be carefully evaluated and presented to people concerned who will indeed provide them with enough materials in order to draft laws in the favor of all parties.

Youth radio, television should featuire programes based on CA Elections and indeed serves the purpose of unbiased discussions providing a platform to minority groups to voice in their needs and problems to the general public.

Today Nepal seeks change, Nepalese want stability and we youths want a new vision, new ideologies, a new leader for the making of a New Nepal.

We need to learn to compromise because our short comings became tool of power for factors who want to restrict change the change that is sought by all.
